Vintage is back in style, and with that comes the return of the ever-loved polka dot. For the retro look we’re talking white on black, white on blue, and white on red, but really you can polka dot anything with a bit of class. Check out Keira Knightley and her fellow celebs adding a polka-dotted element to their outfits.
One of the hottest colors this year is slated to be blue, if only because 2012 was heavy on the red. Be wary of silly fashion sunglasses covered in polka dots, however. They might seem like a good idea at the time, but you really don’t want to be caught wearing these out in public.
So take the polka dots off your face and bring back the 60s by having them on your clothing and other accessories instead. For example, Police sunglasses are a great way to upgrade to a vintage look. Pair these with a tight pair jeans, a white top and a red and white polka dot sweater and you’ll be as sexy as Taylor Swift in a few easy steps.
Finally, 2013 isn’t about overly matching your clothing. You don’t want a whole bunch of blue items just because the color will be hot this season. Instead you want to hit the highlights with a few key accessories (sunglasses, purse, shoes) and keep the rest of your wardrobe colorful and fashionable by using blue as a highlighter.
